Storms were moving over Pawlet from the south, just before sunset, as I noticed clouds out my windows beginning to glow orange. Hoping for a scene more dramatic than the even overcast of orange around the house, I drove down the road to see how storm clouds were casting light over the town below.
My efforts were rewarded with this scene of a rainbow stretched over the town and a red-tinged Haystack Mountain to the north. I stayed for a few minutes to appreciate the still-warm evening of early fall and watch skimmer dragonflies hover over the pond.
